Teagasc's Forestry Development Department provides advice, training and research on farm forestry and related matters.

COFORD is a representative body from the Forest Sector in Ireland. The Council advises the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine on research and developmental issues.

Climate Ireland is being designed and developed by the Centre for Marine and Renewable Energy (MaREI) at University College Cork (UCC) and the Irish Centre for High End Computer (ICHEC) at the National University of Ireland, Galway and as part of the EPA-funded project A Climate Information Platform for Ireland (ICIP).

Forestry Focus is an initiative of ‘The Society of Irish Foresters’, it gives an introduction to Ireland’s trees, forests and woodlands. Covering all aspects of forestry it gives the reader an easy to understand overview of the Irish forestry sector, while at the same time, providing access to more detailed information on topics such as trees species, growing forests, wood processing and the public goods and services that our forests provide.

EFI hosts a number of online databases with data and information on different aspects of European forests, forestry and forest research. Free to access once you register with EFI.

The Global Forest Resources Assessments (FRA) are produced every five years and describe the world's forests and how they are changing. Full text of reports freely available.
