What is Mendeley?

Mendeley is a free reference manager, pdf organizer and academic social network.

Using Mendeley, you can extract metadata from your PDFs which will allow you to index and organize your collection for easy searching and citing.
Mendeley is a desktop application but also has an online component so you'll need to download the software onto your computer in order to get started.
Mendeley also offers users a mobile option for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Android.

Mendeley User Guides

Mendeley Desktop
Mendeley Desktop is the downloaded part of the software installed onto your computer. Download Mendeley Desktop if you haven't already.
Mendeley Web
This is the Mendeley website where you can access the web version of your library, edit your profile and search for papers, groups or people. You can also access Mendeley's social features.
Citation Plugin
Use the Mendeley Citation Plugin to speed up the process of referencing when writing papers.
Groups
Use Mendeley's groups functionality to help manage and expand your research.
